Hamburger Stroganoff
Ingredients
- cooking oil
- 1 medium onion
- 1/2 pound slice mushrooms
- 1 pound groud sirloin (90% lean) or ground round (85% lean)
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/4 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons dill or parsley
- Noodles (optional to serve over)
Steps
- In large skillet, saute onion in oil over medium heat until soft.
- Add mushrooms and cook until mushrooms give of their liquid and are lightly browned.
- Add ground sirloin/round, break up meat, cook until it loses its pink.
- Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and flour.
- Once stirred in, add broth, bring to a simmer.
- Simmer uncovered until thickened to liking.
- Remove from heat, stir in sour cream.
- Return to heat for ~30 seconds to warm sour cream.
- Take off heat, sprinkle in dill/parsley and serve(typically over noodles).
